The Terrorist Propaganda Tour Continues

Jimmy Carter continued his Middle-East terrorist propaganda tour by meeting with the Gaza based Hamas leaders, Mahmud Zahar and Said Siam. He met with them in Cairo, because Israel barred Carter from visiting the Palestinian territory. Carter said he was planning on circumventing that decision by the Israelis and he did so by traveling to Egypt.

Zahar said the two of them had “common points of view”. Too bad we’ll never really know exactly which views they had in common. Hamas is sworn to the destruction of Israel, so it could be pretty bad I suppose.

Next on his agenda, Carter will meet with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal in Damascus. Their conversation will focus on the Palestinian cause and how to deal with the Israeli occupation.

Former President Carter is hellbent on convincing all of us that Hamas is the key to peace in the Mid East, when in fact we all know Hamas has no intention of keeping that peace, no matter what they say.

Jimmy Carter was a horrible President. Don’t believe me? Ask any of the people involved with the Iran Hostage crisis. Ask any working American who needed to buy gasoline. Hell, ask any farmer what has happened to his ability to earn a living since Carter screwed that up too.

Jimmy Carter has no respect for the office of the President. It was evident the moment he left the White House. He has traveled the world meeting with dictators and terrorists, going against U.S. policy to do so, with no regard to the message it would send world-wide.

I take that back. I think he did know the message his meetings would send and that’s the reason he followed through on them. Jimmy Carter will be known as one of the worst presidents in American history. History will also reflect what a nutball he was while he was spreading his so-called “diplomacy”.

Jimmy Carter Says Dictators Are Special

I wasn’t going to do another post tonight about Jimmy Carter’s visit to the Middle East, but I saw a quote fly by on Twitter that blew me away.

You are not going to believe what he said over the weekend. First he says,

“In a democracy, I realize you don’t need to talk to the top leader to know how the country feels”

Then he goes on to say,

“When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that’s the dictator, because he speaks for all the people”

Those words actually came out of Jimmy Carter’s mouth. He actually said when he visits a dictatorship he doesn’t have to talk to anyone else about how the country feels because the dictator speaks for all the people. Of course they do, they’re frickin dictators you moron!

Let’s refresh here. A dictator is someone who exercises absolute power, someone who has absolute, unrestricted control in a government. A dictator orders people how to act, orders them how to conduct themselves, and tells them what to say when asked about how they feel.

Dictators don’t go around spreading the love, and I doubt anyone gets them any gold watches when they “retire”.

Of course, Jimmy Carter wouldn’t know any better since he doesn’t feel the need to talk to anyone else because the dictator can answer for everyone in the country.

Unbelievable.

I want to give special thanks to @lesliecarbone on Twitter for the heads up on this one.

Jimmy Carter’s Peaceful Friends

Apparently Jimmy Carter’s presence in the Middle East has already had an impact.

Three Israeli soldiers were killed when troops exchanged gunfire with Palestinian gunmen who were making their way toward the border between Gaza and Israel, just south of the Nahal Oz crossing.

Four Hamas members were killed when soldiers entered northern Gaza in a routine operation against militants.

A Reuters cameraman and two bystanders were killed in an apparent airstrike near El Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Oh sure, the events occurring over there could be completely unrelated to his visit, but, like the actual amounts donated by individuals to the Carter Center, we will never know.

What Is Jimmy Carter’s True Motivation?

I often wonder what goes through the mind of Former President Jimmy Carter. I can understand, after such an ineffective presidency, that he would want to salvage his legacy by being a diplomat to the world. Why doesn’t he ever visit the poor / neglected / needy / less fortunate countries that don’t have dictators running them or those that sponsor terrorism? I just don’t get it.

Former President Jimmy Carter is reportedly preparing an unprecedented meeting with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world.

The Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Tuesday that Carter was planning a trip to Syria for mid-April, during which he would meet with Khaled Meshal, the exiled head of the Palestinian terror group Hamas, on April 18.

Deanna Congileo, Carter’s press secretary, confirmed in an e-mail to FOXNews.com that Carter will be in the Mideast in April. Pressed for comment, Congileo did not deny that the former president is considering visiting Meshal.

This time, it’s worse than overseeing the election in Venezuela for Hugo Chavez. It’s worse than rubbing elbows with Fidel Castro. It’s worse than inviting Robert Mugabe to the White House. This time he is meeting with the exiled head of a terrorist organization.

This may not surprise you, it really doesn’t surprise me. I just can’t figure out why he keeps meeting with people that have no intention of changing the world by trying to make it a better place. Some of you may be living under rocks or in polygamist compounds in the middle of Texas and not know what Hamas is.

Some people don’t think this is too bad yet. Me? I think they need to get a new lcd monitor or something, because you’d have to be blind to think otherwise.

Answers.com says:

Militant Palestinian Islamic movement. The group is dedicated to the destruction of Israel and the creation of a Palestinian Islamic state. It was founded in 1987 by Sheikh Ahmad Yasin, and its leadership comes from the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas’s aims are more militant: it takes the position that Palestine cannot be surrendered to non-Muslims. It opposed the 1993 peace agreement between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel. Beginning in 2000, the group intensified its violent acts against Israelis, including numerous suicide bombings. In 2006 Hamas participated in the elections for the Palestinian Legislative Council and won a surprise victory over Fatah.

Wikipedia says:

Hamas was created in 1987 by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin of the Gaza wing of the Muslim Brotherhood at the beginning of the First Intifada. Best known for multiple suicide bombings and other attacks[4] directed against civilians and Israeli military and security forces targets, Hamas’ charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and its replacement with a Palestinian Islamic state in the area that is now Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.[5] The organization is widely described as antisemitic.

Even the dictionary defines Hamas:

a Palestinian Islamic movement engaged in grass-roots organizing and terrorism against Israel.

Here are some members of Hamas:

Here are some of the things Hamas members do:

Exactly why is he so infatuated with meeting with dictators and terrorists? What is he trying to accomplish? What are his motives?

Surely a world diplomat would be working to make this world a better place, right?

Since he left the office of president and started his never ending tour of diplomacy, what exactly has Jimmy Carter done to help the world? Habitat for Humanity does not count, it’s a community service not a diplomatic one.

What has he done besides endorse murderous dictators and exalt terrorists by putting them in the spotlight for all their followers to see, while he undermines current U.S. policy? I just don’t get it.

Prepare To Be Stimulated!

So I got a notice from the IRS yesterday, telling me about the economic stimulus package and that I was going to receive another notice with additional information shortly before the payment is sent.

How much did it cost the IRS to send this pre-notice notice? Wasn’t that a complete waste of taxpayer money? I think the real notice, telling me how much I will be getting and when I will be getting would have sufficed.

Apparently, if you chose to have your tax refund direct deposited, you will get your stimulus check direct deposited as well. If not, then you have to wait for your check.

You can check the calculator on the IRS website to see how much you can expect to be stimulated. I hope we get enough to buy one of those nifty popcorn machines for our basement. Life this summer will be good if we do.

Castleberry Foods Has More Problems

If the Castleberry name sounds familiar, it should. Last summer they recalled more than 90 products and 27 different brands of food due to reports of botulism linked to their products.

Federal food safety officials have shut down an Augusta processing company involved with a massive recall of canned chili linked to botulism poisoning last summer.

Castleberry’s Food Company received a letter from the Food and Drug Administration on Friday that suspended its operating permit. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, which monitors food plants that include meat in their products, also pulled its inspectors from the Augusta plant on Friday, spokeswoman Amanda Eamich said.

The FDA permit was a temporary one, issued last September with specific conditions that allowed the company to reopen after a two-month shutdown tied to the botulism investigation.

Problems on a processing line not associated with last summer’s recall triggered the permit suspension, said Kim Rawlings, an FDA spokeswoman.

There have been no reports of illness tied to any products. The federal agencies suspended operations at the plant after an FDA inspection, Eamich said.

So far there is no reason why they shut it down, but I’m sure the answer is quite interesting. Either way, I know it doesn’t affect me or my family as we haven’t purchased any of their products since the recall last summer.

Arriving Late To The Party

Isn’t it a bit late for this?

John McCain got a White House embrace from President Bush on Wednesday, along with the party perks that go with sewing up the Republican nomination. The endorsement has baggage, though, reminding voters of the drawn-out Iraq war and the nation’s economic woes under an unpopular GOP president.

Bush, who defeated McCain in a bitter 2000 primary campaign before winning the presidency, said the Arizona senator’s “incredible courage and strength of character and perseverance” carried him to the nomination this time.

Not to sound too rude here, but does it really matter what President Bush does at this point? John “RINO” McCain is the Republican nominee and the only Republican candidate left in the race, who else would the President endorse?

Why didn’t he open his mouth and say something back when there were 12 candidates in the race? Why not when there were 8, 6, or even 4? Because, it’s much easier to pick the winner when he’s already crossed the line. It’s much easier to access the information you need with HDMI switches installed too, but that doesn’t mean you wait until you only have one connection to make to install them.

This endorsement will not help McCain, he’s already the nominee and those Republicans who are going to vote for him are going to do so whether or not the President endorsed him.

What a waste of time.

Do Endorsements Matter At This Point?

What good is it to endorse someone for President when they’re pretty much a shoe in? Isn’t that like betting on the only horse in a race? What synaptic act caused such a decision?

I like Fred. I wanted Fred to be our next President, but I can’t stand the way people, like Fred, are coming back out the woodwork now to endorse John ‘Big Mac’ McCain.

One thing for sure, it just proves what people already know. When it comes to crunch time, the Republicans definitely know how to toe the party line, and quickly.

He’s At It Again

Back on January 5th, Matt Drudge had a silhouette image of Hillary Clinton up on his site for over 18 hours.

Now, here we are less than a month later and he’s at it again.

Now, I know some people think of Hillary Clinton as the devil incarnate, but isn’t this getting a bit ridiculous? The next thing you know, hell be telling us that there was some deal about land for sale Branson and then he’ll really flip out on us all.

The SOTU Democratic Response

The following is the text of the Democratic response to the State Of The Union address, delivered by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas:

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius: I’m Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of the State of Kansas.

And I am grateful for the opportunity to speak with you tonight.

I’m a Democrat, but tonight, it really doesn’t matter whether you think of yourself as a Democrat…or a Republican…or an Independent. Or…none-of-the-above.

Instead, the fact you’re tuning in this evening tells me each of you is, above all…

…an American, first.

You are mothers, and fathers. Grandparents, and grandchildren. Working people, and business-owners. Americans, all.

And the American people - folks like you, and me - are not nearly as divided as our rancorous politics might suggest.

In fact, right now, tonight, as political pundits discuss the President’s speech - chances are, they’ll obsess over the reactions of Members of Congress.

“How many times was the President interrupted by applause? Did Republicans stand? Did Democrats sit?”

And the rest of us will roll our eyes and think, “What in the world does any of that have to do with me?”

And, so, I want to take a slight detour from tradition on this State of the Union night.

In this time, normally reserved for the partisan response, I hope to offer you something more:

An American Response.

A national call to action on behalf of the struggling families in the heartland, and across this great country. A wakeup call to Washington, on behalf of a new American majority, that time is running out on our opportunities to meet our challenges and solve our problems.

Our struggling economy requires urgent and immediate action, and then sustained attention. Families can’t pay their bills. They are losing their jobs, and now are threatened with losing their homes.

We heard last week and again tonight that Congress and the President are acting quickly, on a temporary, targeted stimulus package. That is encouraging. But you and I know that a temporary fix is only the first step toward meeting our challenges and solving our problems.

There is a chance Mr. President, in the next 357 Days, to get real results, and give the American people renewed optimism that their challenges are the top priority. Working together, working hard, committing to results, we can get the job done.

In fact, over the last year, the Democratic majority in Congress has begun to move us in the right direction– with bipartisan action to strengthen our national security, raise the minimum wage, and reduce the costs of college loans.

These are encouraging first steps. But there is still more to be done.

And, so we ask you, Mr. President — will you join us? Let’s get to work.

We know that we are stronger as a nation when our people have access to the highest-quality, most-affordable health care. When our businesses can compete in the global marketplace without the burden of rising health care costs here at home.

We know that caring for our children, so they have a healthy and better start in life, is what grownups do. Governors in both parties, and a large majority of the Congress are ready, right now, to provide health care to 10 million American children, as a first step in overhauling our health care system.

Join us, Mr. President, sign the bill and let’s get to work.

Sitting with the First Lady tonight was Steve Hewitt, the city manager of Greensburg, Kansas. Many of you remember Greensburg - our town nearly destroyed by a tornado last year.

Thanks to Steve’s efforts, and hundreds of others in our state, and across the country, Greensburg will recover. Folks rolled up their sleeves and got to work, and local, state and federal governments assisted in the effort.

But more than just recover - the Kansans who live in Greensburg are building green - rebuilding a better community for their children and grandchildren; making shared sacrifices, and investments for the next generation.

Greensburg is not alone. You and I - stand ready - ready to protect our environment for future generations, and stay economically competitive. Mayors have committed their cities to going green; governors have joined together, leading efforts for energy security and independence; and the majority in Congress is ready to tackle the challenge of reducing global warming and creating a new energy future for America.

So we ask you, Mr. President, will you join us? It’s time to get to work.

Here in the heartland, we honor and respect military service. We appreciate the enormous sacrifices made by soldiers and their families.

As Governor of Kansas, I am the Commander in Chief of our National Guard. Over the past five years, I have seen thousands of soldiers deployed from Kansas. I’ve visited our troops in Iraq; attended funerals and comforted families; and seen the impact at home of the war being waged.

We stand ready in the heartland and across this country, to join forces with peace-loving nations across the globe and to fight the war against terrorists, wherever they may strike. But our capable and dedicated soldiers can’t solve the political disputes where they are, and can’t focus on the real enemies elsewhere.

The new Democratic majority of Congress and the vast majority of Americans are ready - ready to chart a new course. If more Republicans in Congress stand with us this year, we won’t have to wait for a new President to restore America’s role in the world, and fight a more effective war on terror.

The last five years have cost us dearly - in lives lost; in thousands of wounded warriors whose futures may never be the same; in challenges not met here at home because our resources were committed elsewhere. America’s foreign policy has left us with fewer allies and more enemies.

Join us, Mr. President, and working together with Congress to make tough, smart decisions, we will regain our standing in the world and protect our people and our interests.

I know government can work to benefit the people we serve, because I see it every day, not only here in Kansas, but in states across the country. I know government can work, Mr. President, because like you, I grew up in a family committed to public service. My father and my father in law both served in Congress - one a Republican and one a Democrat. They had far more in common than the issues that divided them - a love for their country that led them from military service to public service. A lifetime of working for the common good, making sacrifices so their children and grandchildren could have a better future.

They are called “the greatest generation”. But I believe, like parents across America, that our greatest generations are still to come. That we must chart a new course, at home and abroad, to give our future greatest generations all the opportunities our parents gave us.

These are uncertain times, but with strength and determination, we can meet the challenges together. If Washington can work together, so quickly, on a short-term fix for families caught in the financial squeeze, then we can work together to transform America.

In these difficult times - the American people aren’t afraid to face difficult choices.

But, we have no more patience for divisive politics.

Tonight’s address begins the final year of this presidency, with new leaders on the horizon and uncertainty throughout our land. Conditions we face, at home and abroad, are results of choices made and challenges unmet.

In spite of the attempts to convince us that we are divided as a people, a new American majority has come together. We are tired of leaders who rather than asking what we can do for our country, ask nothing of us at all.

We are Americans sharing a belief in something greater than ourselves, a nation coming together to meet challenges and find solutions; to share sacrifices and share prosperity; and focus, once again, not only on the individual good but on the common good.

On behalf of the new American majority - the majority of elected officials at the national, state and local level, and the majority of Americans, we ask you, Mr. President, to join us. We are ready to work together, to be the America we have been– and can be once again.

Thank you for listening. God bless and sleep well. And in the morning, let’s get to work.
