The Birthday Bash

What do you do for a mommy on her 44th birthday? You give her pan of Triple Chunk Chocolate brownies baked by her four favorite guys in the whole wide world.

Of course, we also made all of her favorite foods for dinner, and we were all stuffed before the night was over.

Happy Birthday Charlotte!

When she was born she was given just a 5% chance of survival.

Now Charlotte Wyatt – the profoundly disabled two-year-old who has been in hospital in Portsmouth since birth – is turning three.

Charlotte's future living arrangements are still unresolved.

Her right to life case is also likely to go back to the High Court.

When Charlotte caught a virus last winter, a further order was issued allowing doctors not to resuscitate her. This still stands.

A special birthday party was being held at the hospital on Saturday and her parents had planned to attend. Meanwhile Charlotte remains blissfully unaware of her uncertain future.

Happy Birthday little one. We love you.

Note: You can see pictures from her party today, at savecharlotte.com.

Today's Famous Birthdays

I thought I would take a moment to acknowledge all of the famous people who were born on this day, January 28th.

John Banner, who played Sgt. Schultz on Hogan's Heroes, was born in 1910.

Abstract artist Jackson Pollock was born in 1912.

Alan "Hawkeye Pierce" Alda was born in 1936.

Hee-Haw model, and Playboy bunny, Barbi Benton was born in 1950.

PGA golfer Nick Price was born in 1957.

Folk singer Sarah McLachlan was born in 1968.

World renowned photographer and novelist Vincent Ferrari was born in 1976.

I think I'll take a moment celebrate my age
End of an era and the turning of a page
Now it's time to focus in on where I go from here
Lord have mercy on my next thirty years

In my next thirty years I'm gonna have some fun
Try to forget about all the crazy things I've done
Maybe now I've conquered all my adolescent fears
And I'll do it better in my next thirty years

My next thirty years I'm gonna settle all the scores
Cry a little less laugh a little more
Find a world of happiness without the hate and fear
Figure out just what I'm doin' here in my next thirty years

For my next thirty years I'm gonna watch my weight
Eat a few more salads and not stay up so late
Drink a little lemonade and not so many beers
Maybe I'll remember my next thirty years

My next thirty years will be the best years of my life
Raise a little family and hang out with my wife
Spend precious moments with the ones that I hold dear
Make up for lost time here in my next thirty years
In my next thirty years
