Raymond Parks Dies

Raymond Parks, who got to know fast cars while transporting moonshine along Georgia’s back roads and went on to become a pioneering figure in Nascar as the owner of its first championship team, died Sunday at his home in Atlanta. He was 96.

Parks is survived by his wife, Violet; his brothers, Virgil, John and Walter; his sisters, Lucile, Aileen, Louise, Mary, Corene, Lorene, Genevieve, Gertie, Sally and Betty; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
