Ali-Ollie Woodson Dies

Ali-Ollie Woodson, who led the legendary Motown quintet The Temptations in the 1980s and '90s and helped restore them to their hit-making glory with songs including "Treat Her Like A Lady," has died, a friend said. He was 58.

Woodson died Sunday in southern California after battling cancer, Motown Alumni Association President Billy Wilson said. Wilson said Woodson's wife, Juanita, told him about the death Sunday.

Rest In Peace, Ali-Ollie.

William H. Pflaumer Dies

William H. Pflaumer, a street-smart Philadelphia beer baron who turned the 116-year-old Christian Schmidt and Sons Inc. brewery into one of the nation’s largest, only to see it close after he was sent to federal prison for tax evasion, died on May 22 in Philadelphia. He was 76.

The cause was heart failure, said Lauren Pflaumer, a granddaughter.

Besides his son Robert, Mr. Pflaumer is survived by two other sons, Ronald and Fred; his daughters Barbara Samuelian and Jenette Tierney; a brother, Charles; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His wife died in 1988, and his oldest son, William, died in 2006.

Rest In Peace, William.

Dennis Hopper Dies

Dennis Hopper was no Easy Rider.

Hopper, the actor who upended Hollywood with his hippie classic, lost chunks of his career to hard-headedness and drugs, and wound up a revered elder statesman, died Saturday, May 29 at his home in Venice after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. He was 74, and on seemingly on his ninth, if not tenth, life.

Born May 17, 1936, in Kansas, the future Hollywood rebel was a product of the studio system, breaking into the movies as a teenager, with roles in the James Dean classics, Rebel Without a Cause and Giant. On the whole, there wasn't much in Hopper's early credits–heavy on sitcoms and Westerns–to suggest a counterculture icon in the making. (His attitude, however, had been frowned upon by the establishment since the 1950s.)

Rest In Peace, Dennis.

Memorial Day Weekend!

Who knew that soldiers had such nice skin? This page looks more like a running ad for an acne cream or a product to remove acne scars

Since Memorial Day is for the troops, here is a gallery that will make it easier to think about them when you are full of beer and hot dogs this weekend. I am minutes away from enlisting just in case co-ed showering gets instituted, like in Starship Troopers.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
