Deputy Dave Crawford Dies

A deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office died Friday night when his patrol car left the road and plunged into a creek off Carrollton-Tyus Road.
Dave Crawford, 54, was responding to a call when the Sheriff’s Office lost contact with him. His car was found overturned and partially submerged in the creek by officers who had been searching the area for him.
Crawford was pulled from his car by the officers and taken to Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
