Finally Getting Out Of Their Neighborhood

Roger Dean says there was only one way out of his Woodland Brook Drive neighborhood in north Cherokee County. "When it snows or ices in our neighborhood we come to a standstill," he said. "You don't get out and if you want to get out you have to walk."
Even though temperatures reached the mid-40 degree range Monday some rural parts of the county still had snow and ice on roads. Cherokee County Roads and Bridges crews finally got out to sand and salt two steep hills on Woodland Drive and Northcreek Drive.
This sounds like my neighborhood. Because of ice at the top and bottom of our hill we were "trapped" here for three days.
It was an awesome three days, no one rang my doorbell and there was no noise at all, except for the sound of screeching, scratching, and sliding cars as they crested the hill.
