Ed Reimers Dies

Ed Reimers, the actor who for decades told television viewers, “You’re in good hands with Allstate,” died on Sunday at the home of his daughter, Kathryn Reimers Manning, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He was 96.

Edwin W. Reimers was born Oct. 26, 1912, in Moline, Ill. After early jobs at radio stations in Des Moines and other cities, he lived in Los Angeles for most of his life. He moved to Saratoga Springs after his wife’s death in 2007.

In addition to Ms. Reimers Manning, he is survived by two grandchildren.
