Merce Cunningham, the avant-garde dancer and choreographer who revolutionized modern dance by creating works of pure movement divorced from storytelling and even from their musical accompaniment, has died at age 90, a spokeswoman said Monday.

Cunningham died on Sunday at his Manhattan home of natural causes, said Leah Sandals, spokeswoman for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Sandals would not specify the exact cause of death.

The foundation did not provide information Monday on Cunningham’s survivors and funeral arrangements were incomplete. The foundation said it was receiving visitors at the Manhattan studio all day on Monday.

Rest In Peace, Merce.

Vernon Forrest, who held three boxing championships and scored a memorable upset of the welterweight titleholder Shane Mosley in 2002, died Saturday night, apparently in an exchange of gunfire after he was robbed at a gas station in Atlanta. He was 38.

Detective Lt. Keith Meadows of the Atlanta police told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that a gunman robbed Forrest of several items after Forrest took his Jaguar to the gas station to put air in its tires. Forrest, who was armed as well, chased after the robber and evidently fired his weapon but was shot seven or eight times in the back, Meadows said.

Forrest is survived by a son, Vernon Jr.

Rest In Peace, Vernon.

I wonder. Was she born stupid or did it take her years in Washington to acquire the talent?

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) told activists rallying on Capitol Hill in support of the newly reintroduced Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), that the United States should join 27 other countries that have equality guarantees for women, including Rwanda, Algeria, China and Afghanistan.

“It does make a difference if an Equal Rights Amendment is in place or not,” Lee told the people who gathered outside of the Capitol on Tuesday.

“Twenty-seven other countries, including Rwanda, Afghanistan, Algeria and China have equality provisions,” Lee said.

Because, you know, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Algeria, and China are shining examples of human rights let alone equal rights. Shut up.

Many of you know we have been living here in the state of Georgia for over a decade now, and truth be told, it’s pretty nice, once you get used to the humidity, and the pterodactyl sized mosquitos. For the longest time we were the only ones on the east coast, but in the past few years, my mom and my sister have moved back east, so now the only one living on the west coast is my dad.

He moved to Oregon a few years ago and he loves it up in the Pacific Northwest. He loves the climate, he loves the people, and he’s really enjoying himself up there. When you’re 76, you should love where you live. If he didn’t pick Oregon, I am sure he would have ended up in Washington state, because it is just as beautiful. He loves living in a small town with many larger cities close enough if he needs anything, and I bet when he gets just a little older (were talkin’ 10-15 years here) my bet is he will look for retirement communities in washington state, because he loves the area so much.

I’ve been trying to get him back here for a visit for the longest time, but he’s too busy working. Go figure. I hope I have half his energy when I am his age.

He was wrong to claim Cambridge Police Officers “acted stupidly:.

He was wrong to fuel the fire of racism.

He was wrong to say he was surprised at the controversy over his comments.

He was wrong for not apologizing today.

Shame on you President Obama.
