Dr. Alma Blackmon Dies

Brenda Wood's mother, Dr. Alma Blackmon, passed away Thursday afternoon. Brenda has been a devoted daughter, and spent the past several weeks by her mother's side.
Dr. Blackmon was a well-respected and admired educator and a renowned musician. After a long teaching career in the Washington, D.C., school system, Dr. Blackmon accepted an invitation to teach at Oakwood College (now Oakwood University of Seventh-day Adventists) in Huntsville.

Dr. Blackmon would have been 88 next month. She led an incredible, accomplished life full of music and family. All our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda and her family.
