He was whiny and annoying in 2007, and he’s still whiny and annoying.

The Atlanta attorney at the center of an international health scare has filed a lawsuit against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention claiming it invaded his privacy.

Andrew Speaker filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in the federal court seeking unspecified damages and court fees.

Get over it. There was a good chance he had a drug resistant form of TB and he flew to Europe anyway. He… No scratch that… Everyone on that plane was lucky it wasn’t that form.

Now go away Mr. Speaker, we have more important things to read about these days, like Paris Hilton and Swine Flu. There are far more important people making reservations through Westgate.

  1. Well, I certainly understand people wanting to get mad. That being said however, one should realize that the media almost always gets the story wrong. If they aren’t fabricating the “facts” they are omitting important imformation and re-doing the timeline for sensationalism. To anyone interested in this case I suggest they try reading the complaint. Speaker was never diagnosed with XDR-TB at all. A preliminary test (which can never be used alone but somehow was in this case) was said to show signs of XDR, or so the CDC says. In reality, there was never any XDR-TB but they can’t really make a huge issue out of MDR. It is interesting to note that to date the CDC either can’t or won’t produce the specimen that they used to claim Speaker had XDR-TB. They say they have lost it. Really? Is that their level of control? Another interesting point is that the AJC reported earlier that year that they found memos that the CDC was looking for a high profile case so they could receive additional funding. Well it worked, they received about one billion for their little stunt. The CDC knew full well that Speaker was going to Greece. As has been point ed out ,even his soon to be father in law was a TB researcher at the CDC and they have memos which prove that Julie Gerberding, the head of the CDC, blatently lied to the Senate when she claimed they didn’t know until after Speaker had left. We could go on about how the doctors told him he wasn’t contagious(and nobody has ever caught anything from him)and even the doctors themselves didn’t wear masks or issue precautions to him about being in public. In fact after the trip to Greece and the media blitz, they wanted Speaker and his wife to drive to Denver for his treatment. Thats right, drive and use hotels and restaurants etc. Kind of strange for a guy they just screwed over to the world, don’t you think? In the two years since this incident, an interesting fact has come to light. The United States (CDC)is a member of and complies with the WHO which state that it is illegal for anyone with MDR-TB to travel beyond their border or enter another country. The CDC knew this full well but failed to inform Speaker or anyone that it was illegal for him to travel to Greece. Why would they, that would ruin their bast chance for huge funding increases and they knew full well he wasn’t contagious and was testing negative on his sputum tests so it was a win win for them. Who cares if they ruin someones life and career? Theri was indeed no need to release Speakers name or his medical information to the general public but they needed to put a face on it for publicity. They would probably say it was for the greater good. In short, follow the money trail and you will usually find the truth. A billion is a BIG money trail. Then again, it is far easier to just say you don’t care and further spread wrong information and go along with all the other sheep who believe whatever the media tells them.

  2. Just as I suspected. You don’t care about the truth, do you? All you want to do is persecute someone because the media told and sold you a pack of untruths. I actually could tell from your ignorant posting what kind of person you are. By removing my post that explained things you proved that you are just another part of the mob mentality. Welcome to sheepdom. Say, “Baaaaaaaaah”. Laughing.

  3. Now who is running with the sheeple with his conspiracy theory about removing your post?

First of all, I could care less about Andrew Speaker. Everything I based my post on, was because of his own words, either in television interviews, public statements, or his court filing. It has nothing to do with the media, the mob mentality, or even the facts of the case.

Thanks for “explaining things” for us, and showing us your true colors. Oh, and speaking about the truth, I really could care less what you think what the truth is, because you yourself have proven that you are the one with the mob mentality, making accusations and attacking people before they even get a chance to approve your comments (you do remember reading the “if this is your first comment” text when you posted your insults right)?

    Have a great day.

  4. My apologies. Yes I did read your note however, the blog was posted yesterday and was not there today. I assumed you took it down and you know what they say about assumptions, right? My mistake. As for not caring about Mr. Speaker, I understand that as well. I know Mr. Speaker and details of this case personally and all I have to say is, if you don’t care, why are you on here bashing someone you don’t know? Oh yes, the media made him out to be the worst of the worst. That was the CDC’s intention. The media didn’t intend to do it but for the most part they couldn’t get a story straight if their lives depended on it. Call it the human aspect of one person telling a story and watching it mutate…whatever. Inside Edition last night claimed that Speaker was sueing the CDC because they ruined his marriage. What a load of SH*T. All of these wrong postings only feed the frenzy. I hope you are never in a situation where the media totally distorts the real facts and presents them as truths. If you ever are presented with that situation you might remember this case.

  5. The reason for posting it is because he has chosen to bring it to the forefront of the media this time. The “bashing” as you call it, was a reference to the fact that (as a person in the spotlight) he seemed whiney and aggravating to me. It’s that simple. If any of the facts of the case mattered (as I think there is a lot to be said about how BOTH sides of this situation occurred), I would have referenced those facts in my post. I was quite adamently opposed to Mr. Speaker when everything first occurred, as you could find by doing a search for his name here on my site, but as time has passed, I have realized that like all other situations, this was a two way street of information, and both sides had their issues at the time.

I understand and agree with you about the media distorting facts. Unfortunately that’s what they do, because that’s what people seem to want to hear these days. It would be nice to think that someone in the media could get back to reporting facts and leave it at that, but I’m afraid those days are long gone. We are now tasked with weeding through the crap they spew at us to find the truth, if there is any to begin with.
