The Sad, Pathetic Hypocrite

Dave Winer is criticizing Twitter over the suggested users feature, which was added recently to help Twitter newbies get more out of the service.
Dave Winer has the nerve to criticize twitter for their new feature when he himself took money for the same thing, but never said a word.
I wasn't on that list. I poured a lot of effort into Radio, and while I wasn't in the top tier of bloggers I was solidly second-tier. Former MTV veejay Adam Curry was on the list, and in July 2003 he revealed why — he secretly paid Winer $10,000
Dave Winer is not only a hypocrite, he's a schmuck. Mike Arrington points out why Dave Winer's credibility is completely shot. (As if it wasn't shot at any one of a dozen times in the past).
But it turns out Winer has a shady past when it comes to disclosing his own conflicts of interest. After his post yesterday, an ex-employee of his noted that Winer took at least one cash payment of $10,000 to promote a blog in a news aggregator he created. This wasn’t disclosed until the the person who paid blogged about it some time later.
Credibility = Shot. Permanently.
This is where the Spitzer phenomenon comes in. Winer doesn’t see his taking a payment as an issue, saying on Twitter “No regrets, we did the right thing, both in including him and in accepting his gratuity.” Sorry Dave, but you aren’t above the ethical rules you so keenly shout about.
Mike's right Dave. You are not above the rules you blather on about every day, then again you won't pay attention to what other people say because you still believe you are above them too. How sad.
