Another Day, Another Recommendation

I had a friend call me up last night asking about laptops. I really don't mind it, and I do appreciate the fact that he thinks I know my stuff when it comes to the latest and greatest computer hardware, but it gets quite tiring being the "go-to" guy for everything computer related.

In the past I have had a lot of experience with HP notebooks, Sony Notebooks, and most recently MacBooks. I made sure to fill him in on all of the pros and cons when making the decision on whether or not to choose a pc or a mac, and he has pretty much decided to go with a pc laptop to be more compatible with his work environment. I don't blame him, because many people still think you have to have a pc based laptop when you work in a Windows environment. Of course, I know better.

He has used Toshiba Notebooks extensively for his job and was leaning toward another Toshiba product, but I pointed out a couple really good deals over at Dell and he finally narrowed his decision to a couple Dell Notebooks.

We spent just over an hour on the phone and within the next couple days his new laptop will arrive via the guys in the brown shirts. I'm sure I'll get a phone call shortly afterward asking me a thousand questions about the operating system.
