Red Tailed Hawk

We were driving home from the Carroll County Administration Building the other day when we saw the most beautiful hawk we have seen in a long time.
The photo is real grainy because we were a long distance from the bird.

Our oldest later informed me that this was a Red Tailed Hawk.

It has many different species, as some of the Red-tailed Hawk don't have a very obvious red tail…
By the way, the scientific name for Red-tailed Hawk is "Buteo jamaicensis", where it's known as "ChickenHawk" as well!
