Years ago, and I mean many years ago, when I had my own business, I spent a lot of time working on marketing and advertising displays inside the shop. I spent countless hours learning new computer applications to print signs for specials, banners, and other items pertinent to what was on sale that day (or week).

In the beginning I would simply secure the banners and displays any way I could, but having a couple banner stands would have solved most of my issues, especially with the larger, heavier signs. I never had the chance to use any canvas printing in my business, but I bet I could have increased some sales if I had.

The biggest issue I have had in the past with any business endeavors was advertising/marketing. For some reason my brain just doesn't grasp what needs to be done BEFORE it needs to be done. It's real easy after the fact to think about what I would have done, but it's usually too late when that happens.

Take floor graphics for instance. There was one time of the year when I could have used those to upsell some of our other items, but I never thought about that, until the last week of the summer when someone asked why I didn't use something like that. Oy. When it comes to business marketing, I am the epitome of slow.
