And Canning Season Begins

Here's a picture of our bounty from the farmer's market.

My wife spent all day Sunday peeling tomatoes and cooking them down to make tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes. I helped out from time to time, but she did the majority of the work. I chopped up all of the ingredients she needed for the cans of stewed tomatoes and measured them out into jars so she could add them real easy to her pot.

Tonight she has been peeling the last two boxes of tomatoes to make spaghetti sauce and some more tomato sauce. I think she will be happy if she doesn't have to look at another tomato for the rest of the year.
