Sheldon Keller, an Emmy-winning comedy writer whose work included “Caesar’s Hour,” one of the jewels of 1950s television, died on Monday at his home in Valencia, Calif. He was 85.

The cause was complications of Alzheimer’s disease, his son, Casey, said.

His other work included writing specials for Frank Sinatra, Danny Kaye and Carol Channing, as well as episodes of “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” “M*A*S*H” and other series.

Mr. Keller’s marriage to Bernice Berkowitz, known as Bitsy, ended in divorce. In addition to their son, Casey, of Valencia, he is survived by their daughter, Jamie Keller, of Berkeley, Calif., and three grandchildren.

Rest In Peace, Shelly.
