Investing One Share At A Time

When it comes to buying gifts, I love to get things for people that they have never seen before, or wouldn't even dream of getting themselves.
While I was growing up, my grandfather bought and sold a lot of different stocks and bought savings bonds. In fact, both he and my grandmother bought a ton of savings bonds. I couldn't believe how much their savings bonds were worth when my grandmother passed away. The total was simply amazing, and their investment in those bonds never impacted their budget.
My grandfather was adament about purchasing some sort of investment with each paycheck. He owned a lot of different stock, ranging from Cisco and IBM to some of oyour everyday stocks. He even owned some disney stock for a short time when they lived in Anaheim, I am sure because he had several grandkids running around and he was looking for a return on all the trips to Disneyland. Ha!
I would love to be able to get my kids some disney stock, more as a keepsake, but if it turned into a financial windfall I wouldn't mind either.
One "odd" gift you can get people is ONE share of stock, in a frame. How cool is that? That's the perfect type of gift I would get someone. In fact, I can think of a couple people who just might get some disney stock as a gift this coming year.
