What causes Down's syndrome? According to Wikipedia,
Down syndrome, Down's syndrome, or trisomy 21 is a chromosomal disorder caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 21st chromosome. It is named after John Langdon Down, the British doctor who described the syndrome in 1866. The disorder was identified as a chromosome 21 trisomy by Jérôme Lejeune in 1959. The condition is characterized by a combination of major and minor differences in structure. Often Down syndrome is associated with some impairment of cognitive ability and physical growth as well as facial appearance. Down syndrome can be identified during pregnancy or at birth.
There is nothing you can do to cause someone to "catch" Down's syndrome. Once you find out you are pregnant, there is nothing you can do to cause your child to "get" Down's syndrome.
Alan Colmes has lost his mind. He actually thinks that Sarah Palin's baby has Down's syndrome because she is a bad mother. What a moron.
He has completely lost it. Yes, I know, that last link takes you to a 'Error 404' page. He removed the post in question, then he tries to explain it away with a post titled "Technical Issues". I love this quote from that post:
If you notice anything that seems particularly strange, or if you get any error messages, please feel free to leave them as comments on this post–they may be helpful clues.
If your server is going up and down, it would affect all of your posts , not just the one that is driving the spike in traffic to your site.
For a guy who probably wears Festina watches and makes a lot of money for talking, he sure put his foot in it with this one. Personally, I think he is sick. There is something really wrong in his brain.
What causes Colmes' syndrome?
Colmes' syndrome is a neurological disorder caused by the sudden death of thousands of brain cells. It is thought that these brain cells die because of a sudden complete vacuum of oxygen in the surrounding tissues. The syndrome is contagious and is named after Alan Colmes, the Fox News personality who is known to be 'Case #1' with the first known outbreak. Other disorders are caused by similar neurological events, but only Colmes' syndrome includes a combination of political discourse, asinine assumptions, and a lack of personal character. Colmes' syndrome is often associated with cable news broadcasts and once you have been exposed, you must take proper measures (such as changing the channel) to prevent full infection.
You can prevent Colmes' syndrome. Colmes' syndrome is 100% preventable.
Alan Colmes is not only a moron, but now, he is the very first winner of this year's CIPA award! Congratulations Alan!
