Now We Have Two Mexicos

First there were two Americas and now there are two Mexicos.
Here is a snip from an article at WSB-TV in Atlanta about the Georgia Aquarium and whale sharks.
The aquarium is the only one outside Asia to house the whale sharks, and the only one in the world to offer tourists a chance to dive with the creatures. The Georgia Aquarium is one of the few places that has ever attempted to house the creatures, and the only in the U.S.
So far the Georgia Aquarium's record is spotty: Two of the whale sharks have died since the aquarium opened in 2005.
But the aquarium has invested in research projects on the whale shark in Mexico, Taiwan and Mexico.
Hmm. I'm not sure which Mexico is which, and whether John Edwards was involved in the discovery or not.

That's easy. The first Mexico is on land, like in an aquarium. The second is in the water, a sin the Gulf of Mexico…no, wait, it's the other way around. Or could it be Mexico the country and Mexico the Gulf (of)? Or perhaps it’s the original Mexico and New Mexico.
Actually, there are two Mexicos: Mexico the country and Mexico the city. Same thing in Quebec the province and Quebec the city. And Panama the country and Panama the city. And Oklahoma the state and Oklahoma the city. Oh, and New York. And my uncle lives near Iowa City. And I’ve driven through Michigan City. It's a western hemisphere thing. :-)
