I'm Still Fighting That Laptop

I don't know if you saw my laptop video or not, but it still reboots itself constantly, over and over again until I just shut it down. I am almost at a loss of what to do to get t working again. I want to try and rule out hardware issues before I attempt to re-install the operating system, which might just fix the problem.
I spent most of the day working on it, and I believe I am very close to being qualified to work in the Laptop Repair field. I have spent so much time with it, I am beginning to talk to it by name. How bad is that?
As I was working on the darned thing, I noticed that the power cord is quite brittle so I am thinking about looking at Laptop AC Adapters and ordering a new one for this model laptop, that is, if I get it working first.
I have two other laptops, both of them older HP models. One is in mint condition, but it has no network port, or any other way (without spending more money on it) to connect to the internet. The second one works flawlessly on the network, but the screen is cracked and has it's own issues. If I end up using one of the old ones because this one is toast, I am going to have to look at Laptop LCD Screens first, to make sure its something I can fit into my already stretched budget.
