A Hard Day's Work

I know, still no food, but here's the window seat I was talking about.

For dinner, we took the easy way out tonight. We had scrambled eggs, hash browns and some yummy biscuits the wife made.

Taking A Shortcut Ends In Tragedy

I was working in the garage this evening when I heard this news. Listening to the radio, I had no idea how it happened, just that someone was decapitated at Six Flags.

A 17-year-old South Carolina boy on an church outing was killed Saturday when he was struck by the popular "Batman the Ride" at Six Flags Over Georgia. It was the second Batman ride-related death at the Cobb County park.

According to the police and a statement from the amusement park, the boy and a friend climbed over two 6-foot fences — the park perimeter fence and a second one surrounding the ride — to get to the roller coaster. Park officials said there were numerous signs warning would-be intruders of the danger.

The victim was decapitated when the ride struck him, police said. The youth was not identified.

It's a shame that the 17 year old boy had to die, it really is. What a waste. I do have to ask a couple questions though.

Why were these two boys inside the "restricted area"? Were they trying to sneak into the park? After reading the article, it doesn't sounds like it. It sounds like they were trying to take a shortcut to get back in after eating lunch.

I have one last question. Could these boys not read? "Danger zone". "Do not enter". "Authorized personnel only". Pretty simple sentences. Pretty clear messages.

What a waste.
