Something's Different If You Ask Me

A couple of friends of our have decided they are getting married. They have been driving us crazy. Seriously, how many times can you call asking about things for your wedding, when you are the groom to be? When did grooms get a say so on anything to do with a wedding?
Last weekend they came over and while the wife looked at bridal dresses with the future bride, the future groom and I did some work out in the garage. Either he is nervous as they come or he is actually helping to plan certain parts of the wedding. From our conversation out in the garage I learned that he gets to pick the music and the "theme" for the reception, and he gets a vote when it comes to most things, other than the choice of bridal dresses.
When did the world stop spinning? I don't get it. I know the brides usually ask the groom what they think of certain things, but I always thought they were just being nice and patronizing the groom. I had no idea some women actually allowed their men to have a say in the wedding.
Next thing you know, someone will post a comment and tell me that their bride let them look at bridal dresses with her too. Oy.
