Project Management has always been my weakness. Well, let me restate that. I have no problem managing a project when I am the only person working on the project and I don’t have to answer to anyone but myself. But, put me in charge of a project where other people work on the project and I go nuts.

No, I do not have any formal PMP Training, and maybe that’s the problem. I don’t become a control freak or anything but I constantly stress about the progress of the job and then I get irritable, and it shows. Real bad.

I have been giving some thought to studying to get my certification as a Project Management Professional. I figure it wouldn’t hurt, and it would open up quite a few doors where the day job is concerned. Of course if I did that, I would have to make time for PMP Exam Prep, which I could do, but it would be tricky. I’m pretty busy as it is, but I figure if I want to move forward, I have to keep taking steps in that direction, right?

Who knows what is possible. One year ago, I had no idea what I was doing with a couple programming languages we use at the office, and now I am the sole programmer for those platforms, so PMI Certification might just be a walk in the park for me.
