Spending Our Money Wisely

When we heard that we were getting a “rebate” this year, we sat down and made all sorts of big plans for the money. Then, without any warning, our water heater started acting up. I was prepared to spend all my money on the water heater but it turns out we only need a new heating element and I can replace that myself. How cool is that?

Anyway, as you know, last year I ran the water lines to the bathroom in our basement, but we never got around to actually finishing the room, so we’re thinking we might work on that a bit this year. I told the wife to pick out any faucets and fixtures she wants down there and we will see about getting them when the rebate check comes in.

She has been looking at all types of faucets, and because we already have delta faucets throughout the house, she decided she wants to go with them again for the new bathroom.

We love the delta kitchen faucet we bought when we moved into the house. It goes well with the style of our kitchen and it coordinates with the fixtures we have in the other two bathrooms. Somehow I think she will end up picking the same style delta bathroom faucet again this time.

When we get our rebate money, at least we’ll be putting it to good use and it won’t be money down the drain, so to speak.
