It’s that time of the year again. Well, it’s that time of the “6 months” again, actually.

Every April and every October, I sit down and do a car insurance comparison.

From the time I started driving until just a few years ago, I was an avid State Farm customer. Then I realized I was paying a lot more than most people I knew. Not only was I paying more, but my driving record was better than theirs, and I live out in the boonies and work from home, so there is very little risk involved when I get behind the wheel.

That’s when I started comparing insurance companies and ended up switching because the rate was a lot cheaper for the exact same coverage I would have received with State Farm.

Tomorrow I will make a few phone calls and see if there’s a better rate waiting for me. If not, I’ll just pay up and wait for October.

    1. Don’t got with Allstate. We used State Farm for 7 years, one accident (not my fault) and no tickets, and our rates went down constantly. We switched to Allstate ( check that – DH switched to Allstate) and our rates have gone up every three months by about $20 each time for the past four years. No explanation. No accidents, no tickets. We are fixing to switch back to State Farm.
