My Insurance Deadline Is Approaching

In a little under two weeks it will be time to renew my car insurance. In my entire driving life, which has been 27 years, I have only had two different insurance companies handling my insurance needs.
As you probably know, I lived in and around Las Vegas, Nevada while growing up, and while I was not a "high risk", other than my age, I was paying the same amount that those who need high risk auto insurance usually pay. It was crazy.
When I met my wife and we moved to California, my premium went up, but not that much. California auto insurance is normally higher than Nevada, but I guess I was no longer as much of a risk because I got married. Who knew?
I've sat here today calling different companies, obtaining quotes. I am quite happy with my current insurance company, I just want a lower price. I live in the sticks, I don't drive to work each day, and I shouldn't be paying the price I am currently paying. While looking around today I do realize that when it comes to obtaining a car insurance quote California drivers seem to have it made. When we lived out there, they gave me the quote over the phone, here in Georgia they want the information and a number to call me back. Why? Just tell me now.
