Barack Obama Supports Legalized Marijuana

With the astounding revelation that Barack Obama has “always supported decriminalizing marijuana” even though he has said otherwise at various times, I have updated the 2008 Presidential Candidates spreadsheet.
I am no longer updating the original (which shows Giuliani and Edwards before they dropped out), but feel free to download this update, which shows 31 important positions of each of the remaining 6 candidates.

It seems to me a lot of people are in jail for smoking & selling pot. I’m pretty sure it’s very expensive to keep people in jail as well as shuffle them through the courts. How about we tax pot just like cigarettes and quit sending people to jail for something that is no worse than drinking a few beers. How often do pot smokers get thrown in jail for fighting in the streets? Almost never, how about beer drinkers? All the time. Tell me which drug is worse? With all the money we save we can afford to fight more foreign wars!

I love the commercial that shows: Pot doesnt hurt anyone, this is Jane, she bought a dime bag, from Mark who bought it from Jose who bought from a king pin that killed a family in mexico.
The way to stop illegal drug cartels is not helicopters and DEA agents, stop drug cartels permently by legalizing.
The all time best commercial to run to legalize pot is show 2 kids about 12 years old trying to buy beer, the clerk asks for their ID, and they give up and leave.
One of them turns to the other and says:
Come on I know what we can do, They knock on a door and buy some pot, from a “biker” looking junkie who invites in, “Want some coke too?”.
Then display the message “Want to keep your kid off drugs? Make it a real controlled substance.
Republicans do not like marijuana because it turns you into a liberal if you smoke it.

Wow, I hadn’t heard this. Definitely not something you hear on the evening news. I am sure it will both help him and hurt him in his hopes for becoming president. Thanks for sharing.
