We Had A Blast Last Weekend

My mom and I went to the movies last weekend and saw National Treasure, Book Of Secrets. That was the first mom/son time we had alone together in years, and we had a blast. We had soda and popcorn and enjoyed ourselves.

It was a far cry from the times we would sit for hours at the casino, her playing her favorite poker machines and me playing my favorite poker machines and slots. We never gambled that much as far as dollar amount, but we could sit there for hours playing, until one of us got hungry, then we would head into the cafe at the casino and grab a bite to eat.

While we were sitting in the cafe we would play keno, which is one of my all-time favorite games. Oh I know the odds suck, but I don't have to do anything but sit and watch numbers game after game after game.

Now that she's living here in Georgia we won't get times like those at the casinos, being that the closest one is in North Carolina and I don't think we're up for that long of a drive to sit and play nickels for a few hours.

These days they have online casino which could be a lot of fun, since I sit at the computer working a lot anyway. I know a lot of them offer games that you can play for free to get the feel of them, so they might be pretty neat, but nothing beats sitting at a casino, with the smell and sounds of it all, watching some guy win millions on a slot machine, or watching another guy lose thousands playing baccarat.
