Keeping An Eye… On Your Cat?

A couple of months ago, one of the guys at my office installed a security camera system in (and around) his home. Knowing that he lives out in the boonies like I do, I was wondering why he thought he needed such a thing. It turns out, he built a “cat-door” for his cat, and knew that something was coming in and out of the house, and he also knew it definitely was not the cat.

I never would have thought of installing a security camera to watch my cat, or whatever else might come through that door. Until recently I hadn’t even thought about home security cameras at all. But after our neighbors car was stolen and another neighbor’s house was broken into, I thought it might be time to invest in one of those fancy CCTV camera systems so I could sit here at my desk and watch the yard while I work.

The only problem I have with our house, is we only have two windows to the front and they are both bedroom windows. It would be nice to have a way to see what was going on out there, without having to run into a bedroom or by opening the front door.
