Unlike most men, I don’t have a lot experience buying flowers for people. Oh sure, I had some delivered when a friend was sick, and another time when someone had passed away, but I had never been in a relationship where flowers seemed to matter all that much. Lucky me. A couple years ago, however, we ordered my mom roses for her birthday. The hardest part of the whole process was deciding on an online florist, since she lived in Las Vegas at the time and we, of course, lived in Georgia.

I think that was the first time in my whole live that I decided to send flowers to someone, anyone, for their birthday. We didn’t just send her a couple flowers though, either. We sent her one rose for every birthday. Yep, she received a wonderful arrangement of 55 mauve colored roses. Heck, I think it was nicer than sending her a birthday cake with 55 candles on top, don’t you?

Since I have been married to my wife, she has received flowers four times. Once for each time a son was born, and another time, on a whim, I ordered her a small arrangement, just because. I haven’t bought her any flowers since we’ve been in this house however, simply because the flower delivery guy would get very confused trying to find our little house in the big woods.
