Frito-Lay announced the voluntary recall of 41 cases (2,460 bags) of 1.5 oz. bags of Lay's Classic Potato Chips. This lot is marked as Lay's Classic Potato Chips but may contain Lay's Cheddar & Sour Cream Flavored Potato Chips. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious life threatening allergic reaction if they consume the Cheddar & Sour Cream Flavored product. No illnesses have been reported to date.
This product has been distributed only through select vending machines in North Texas.
The only affected packages are 1.5 oz. bags of Lay's Classic Potato Chips that have a freshness date of February 12 located on the upper right hand side of the package and with an 11 digit code number of 12923230985 (time stamp between 06:00 and 08:00), which appears immediately beneath the freshness date.
If you don't live in North Texas, and you haven't purchased any Frito-Lay chips from a vending machine, then you have nothing to worry about.
If the bag you are holding right now does not have the code listed above printed on it, you have nothing to worry about. Well, not from this recall anyway.
If you have any questions, feel free to call the consumer affairs people at Frito-Lay at 1-800-352-4477
On a side note, I have been looking at espresso machines, because I want to get one for someone for Christmas. Any ideas? What brands do you recommend?
