I Need Shin Guards

My wife spent most of yesterday picking up the house and preparing the place for the guests we will have over for dinner on Thanksgiving day.

Late yesterday afternoon I was moving a small bench from one room to another, to help her finish up, when I walked full steam into a bucket full of items on the floor. At the time, it just hurt, like anytime you smash your shin into something.

When I got to the bedroom and put the bench down, I looked at my leg, and it was bleeding. Profusely.

It turns out, that bucket had a couple 2 inch wide curtain rods in it, and I just happened to ram my shin into the end of one of them.

I applied pressure immediately, and my wife, the angel that she is, cleaned the wound and all that jazz. She told me she thought I needed stitches, and I probably did, but I am a wuss when it comes to blood (my blood) and needles, and especially emergency rooms.

The wound is quite deep and 3 inches long, but the good news is, it stopped bleeding almost immediately and it is healing up quite nice, with the butterfly strips and such holding it all together.

Needless to say, because of the injury, I have had to keep my leg elevated, and I just don't like sitting on the couch with the laptop, so I haven't been at the computer as much as I would like.

I will however, return to the desk sometime on Friday.
