Tuberculosis Cases Increasing?

Is it just me, or have there been a lot of tuberculosis cases in the news lately?

A Cobb County high school teacher is out on paid medical leave with a suspected case of tuberculosis.

Cobb school officials said they notified potentially affected students and faculty as soon as they found out and provided necessary testing. Test results on some students came back positive.

"It did indicate that four students exposed to the germ," said Cobb school spokesman Jay Dillon. "They have latent TB infection, which means they can't spread TB to another person. It simply means they have been exposed to the germ. So they have to go in for further testing."

Is it because there are more of them occuring, or is the media making TB a target of their hype?
