I am constantly amazed at how different things are here in Georgia compared to other places around the country.

For example, a friend of mine was walking down the street and accidently bumped into someone, and they dropped some expensive items onto the sidewalk. If that had happened here in our small town, he would have made arrangements with the person to pay for the items he broke, and that would have been that, but it didn't happen here.

It happened in New York, and the person sued him for the damaged items and claimed to have been injured in the fall (they never fell however), and my friend is now looking for a good New York personal injury lawyer.

Talk about culture shock.
