What Digital Camera Do You Recommend?

Posted by Slobokan @ 12:12 · 86 words · print

Now that the family budget crisis will be easing up a bit, I am looking at digital cameras again. While our old one has never let us down, it's only a 1.3 megapixel and it saves its image to a floppy disk. It's definitely time to upgrade, that's for sure.

I won't have a ton of money to spend on one, and I have no idea which ones are the best now, so which one would you recommend, and why?

I'm surprised Vinnie isn't sounding off on this – he's the only camera expert I know. :)

Sounds like you have a Sony Mavica there! ;-)

I just got a new point and shoot digital camera…the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7. The only thing I DON'T like about it is the battery consumption, but rechargeable batteries will take care of that, since I always buy a charger with a car plug.

The Lumix has VERY fast focusing. It's decent in low-light situations…still too much noise for my taste, but I'm spoiled by my DSLR. It's listed as a 6X zoom, but it does go up to 9X.

I go a little into the new camera here
