No Cable For This Guy.

When we bought our house four years ago, we were surprised with the fact that cable tv was not available in our area. We are quite a ways out in the boonies, so it wasn't that much of a shock, well, until we discovered that the local cable company has a line running down the main road, which is less than a quarter of a mile away. What gives?
Anyway, the day we moved in, we began looking at all of the Satellite TV Deals in our area. We may enjoy a simpler life out here in the boonies, but we had to have our TV, that's for sure.
After visiting the appropriate websites and contacting local installers in our area, we got recommendations from our neighbors. A lot of them said they loved one company while others said they liked the other. One guy even went so far as to describe all of the Direct TV Deals he got when he signed up. I think he had a coupon or something and stood to make money off my signing up. Too bad for him I didn't.
We ended up signing up with Dish Network, because they had more to offer that we wanted at the time. I signed a two year contract when signing up, and then when I got our new dual dvr unit, I re-signed another one year contract. That contract is coming up soon, and although I haven't had any issues with my service from them, I will take a look at all of the Dish Network Offers before I decide whether or not I am sticking with them again this time.
Just a note: It's been four years since we moved in and the cable company still does not serve our community, even though the line still runs down the street a quarter of a mile away.
