It's All About Security

Last week, we switched companies for our homeowners insurance. No, we never had a problem with our old company, they just charged way to much for the exact same coverage. In fact, the day I cancelled with them, they asked if I would allow them to quote the policy next year. What? Now they want a chance to compete? I don't think so.
Anyway, the new company I have gone with is saving me $250 a year to cover our home and everything in it. It's a pretty slick deal if you ask me, but it could have been better if I had a Home Security System. They could have knocked even more off my bill if I had one installed.
We have given thought to the idea in the past, and my neighbor even recommended an ADT Home Security System. He talked about their deal wehre you can get $850 in free equipment and the peace of mind knowing your home is protected.
Given that my wife stays home with the kids and homeschools, and I work from an office in our home I am not quite 100% sold on the idea that I need an ADT Alarm System. Then again, the dogs will only bark so loud, and the fact that the security system would also alert the fire department in case of fire is a strong selling point.
Do any of you have an ADT system in your home, and if so, what do you think of it?

We have ADT and LOVE IT!! We have a good significant discount on our homeowner's insurance. ADT has treated us very well. Because we have animals we have the glass-break system. Even with dogs, and being gun owners, having the security system really helps with peace of mind. And it's not expensive either. You can get a good deal on installation (sometimes they have specials of $99) and it's only $36 a month. Can't beat that!!
