We're Losing The Social In Society

If there's one thing I miss from my childhood, it's the "social events" we had in our neighborhood.
We lived in a small town, and by default, we knew a lot of people. We always seemed to be doing something "on the block", whether it was sitting in the front lawn watching the contrails from rockets taking off from Vandenburg, eating fresh Polish sausage that was delivered by our neighbor (who was from Poland), or standing around my dad's pool table playing a game to pass the time. We were always doing something… Together.
In this day and age, very few people have time for family. With both parents working full-time and the kids with homework that takes up all of their home time, no one seems to have time to socialize anymore.
Every time I see pool tables I think of the good times we had, and how much fun it would be if we had one now. Who knows… It could happen. Someday.
Boston Tables has an excellent selection of pool tables to choose from. Their site makes viewing their selection of tables quite easy, and you can pick up all of your pool table supplies while you are there. If you're entertaining the idea of bringing your family back together by investing in a high quality pool table, I would highly recommend Boston Tables.
For now, until I can afford one, I will have to be happy picking blackberries, going on bike rides, or just cuddling up with my kids to watch a good movie. As long as I'm spending time with them, it's all good.
