The Consequences Of Chinese Imports

Posted by Slobokan @ 15:08 · 446 words · print

Following up to my post earlier today where I stated that 96% of the toys recalled this year were made in China, Consumer Affairs has the statistics.

There's no need for much investigating. The government's own figures clearly indicate that of the 72 toys and children's clothing and jewelry items recalled so far this year, 69 came from China.

The complete list of toys and children's items recalled so far this year appears after the jump.

Chinese products are clearly not making the grade, and it's time we all stand up and refuse to purchase items made in China. Only we, as consumers, will be able to convince companies to stop selling out and to come back to America to manufacture their products.

Look at the pet food recall. It's been 123 days since that fiasco was brought to our attention and dogs and cats are still getting sick. While the dog food I feed our pups is not made with ingredients from China, I have still given serious thought to feeding them Organic dog food. At least that way I would know, for sure, that they were getting the very best ingredients from a company that actually cares about what they put in the dog food in the first place.

I am considering using Made in China wicker style baskets I can get cheap at the goodwill for some craft / gift projects. Among them are "parrot" baskets where the bird will be able to use the basket as a toy. I've seem some really cute ones made but NOW I am concerend with the process used to make said baskets. The ones I was considering include the cute Easter baskets millions of kids get each year. How can I be sure the Easter Baskets are safe?? Millions of kids eat candy right out of them
