Another Girl Dies Because Her Mom Is Stupid

Last week, there was a horrific story on our local news.
Tiffany Pauley, a five year old girl who had Down's Syndrome, was reported missing at 11 am and at 1 pm a neighbor found her body in his backyard. It appears the neighbor's Rottwieler mauled the girl to death and charges have now been filed in the case.
Now, I know what you're thinking, but the neighbor has not been charged. It turns out , the dog was properly restrained in his own backyard and little Tiffany must have simply wandered too close. The dog, however, will be destroyed.
Florence Annette Pauley, 41, of Clem, was charged with reckless conduct and involuntary manslaughter after admitting she had been using methamphetamine hours before her daughter Tiffany Pauley, who has Down’s syndrome, left their Cypress Circle house and was killed by a neighbor’s dog, Carroll County Sheriff Terry Langley said.
I am so sick of reading stories about children dying because their parents are stupid.

Maybe this goes way beyond charging anyone and lies more with not keeping a dog on a chain anywhere.
Here's another I pulled out of the air from this month…there are more…just search news or to make it easier go to http://www.mothersagainstdogchaining.org
Infant Attacked, Killed, By Grandparents' Dog

Valerie Chang – AHN News Writer
Ottawa, ON (AHN) – A tragic incident claimed the life of a 17-month-old girl on Sunday. Korie Lyn Edwards had been visiting her grandparents in Montague Township, which is southwest of Ottawa, when she went near the area where her grandparents' dog was chained in the yard. The dog unexpectedly attacked, killing the girl.
Immediately after the attack, Korie Lyn's parents rushed the child to Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital. She was subsequently airlifted to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, but she succumbed to her injuries there.
Authorities indicated that the dog, a ten-year-old German-Shepherd and Rottweiler mix, did not have a history of aggressive behavior. However, animal control officers took custody of the dog after the attack, and, at the request of family members, the dog will be euthanized.
Authorities have not brought charges against anyone in connection with the incident.

Hi Valerie,
We have been educating people for years on chaining and it just is very diffcult to get the point across to some backwards people who see nothing wrong with it.
I am a representative of Dogs Deserve Better, Mothers against dog chaining is our Sister site developed by our Founder, Tammy Grimes.
Keep writing about this and visit my site, make sure you look at the homes page and the pictures page to get the full impact on the cruelty of chaining a dog for life.
Thanks for the article and reference to our site.
