How Did You Spend Your Day?

So, did you enjoy your Fourth of July holiday? We sure did.

Since we took the kids to the north Georgia mountains on Sunday, we decided to keep things low key around here and just enjoy the day. Staying off the highways and out of the heat made for a very enjoyable day for our family.

The only thing we had planned to do, was to watch the parade in our small town, but by 3pm it was so hot that the kids didn't even want to go. Who holds an Independence Day parade at 3 in the afternoon? That's just crazy I tell you.

The kids worked on their model railroad, the wife cleaned up the house a bit, and I finished a few menial tasks around the house.

I changed the filter on the air conditioner, moved some old junk out to the garage, and I installed new aluminum blinds in one of the bedrooms. We decided to go with aluminum blinds in that room because the sun is harsh on that window and vinyl blinds would fade in three months, plus I think the aluminum ones will be a bit more durable. The installation went smooth and I was finished in no time.

Once the chores were done, we all settled in for burgers and hot dogs. Then we watched the fireworks from Atlanta on the big screen television. Life is good.
