On Monday, John McCain reorganized his campaign.
Every time I hear someone use the word “reorganize” when money is involved, I can’t help but think of bankruptcy.
Republican John McCain reorganized his campaign Monday, cutting staff in every department as he raised just $11.2 million in the last three months and reported an abysmal $2 million cash on hand for his presidential bid.
The unpopularity of the war in Iraq and his staunch support of the worst immigration reform legislation since 1965 has finally taken its toll. His campaign manager, Terry Nelson, thought they could raise over $100 million during the course of the campaign, but, like the Senator on immigration, he was mistaken.
With just $2 million cash on hand, maybe it’s time for him to look into some financial consolidation software. It can’t hurt, right? His staff (well, what remains of it, anyway) should be doing as much as they can at this point.
The new quarter, and reporting period, has just begun, so he can get out there and fundraise to his hearts content. That is, if potential donors haven’t stopped paying attention to what it is he has to say.

Why isn’t anybody mentioning how Congressman Ron Paul has more cash on hand than John McCain? Financially speaking, this puts Ron Paul in third place…not such a longshot candidate anymore, I’d say.
Taking into consideration he’s ahead in almost all internet polls, everything seems to be coming up Ron these days!
