    1. You know, I was as terrified as you were about this thing passing especially given the large number of Republicans (in a Democrat-led Senate) in favor of the bill. I never thought I’d say this, but we really couldn’t have done this without so many Democrats who actually listen to their constituents (not that I’ll ever switch parties).

For the record, people who switched their votes from the first cloture motion this week:

      From Nay to Yea:
      None

      From Yea to Nay:
      Alaska: Murkowski (R-AK), Stevens (R-AK)
      Arkansas: Pryor (D-AR)
      Iowa: Harkin (D-IA)
      Kansas: Brownback (R-KS)
      Kentucky: McConnell (R-KY)
      Maine: Collins (R-ME)
      Minnesota: Coleman (R-MN)
      Missouri: Bond (R-MO)
      Nebraska: Nelson (D-NE)
      Nevada: Ensign (R-NV)
New Mexico: Bingaman (D-NM), Domenici (R-NM)
      North Carolina: Burr (R-NC)
      Ohio: Brown (D-OH), Voinovich (R-OH)
      Virginia: Warner (R-VA), Webb (D-VA)

      12 Republicans voting yea:
      Bennett (R-UT)
      Craig (R-ID)
      Graham (R-SC)
      Gregg (R-NH)
      Hagel (R-NE)
      Kyl (R-AZ)
      Lott (R-MS)
      Lugar (R-IN)
      Martinez (R-FL)
      McCain (R-AZ)
      Snowe (R-ME)
      Specter (R-PA)

16 Dems and one Independent voting Nay:
      Baucus (D-MT)
      Bayh (D-IN)
      Bingaman (D-NM)
      Brown (D-OH)
      Byrd (D-WV)
      Dorgan (D-ND)
      Harkin (D-IA)
      Landrieu (D-LA)
      McCaskill (D-MO)
      Nelson (D-NE)
      Pryor (D-AR)
      Rockefeller (D-WV)
      Sanders (I-VT)

    3. Thanks for the switch info Joe. While it’s awesome that 15 Dems crossed the aisle so to speak, I think we really need to hold those Repubs that voted Yea with their feet to the fire.

Every one of them should be held accountable for their vote.
