That $4.4 billion for border security? Yeah, uh huh. There’s a loophole. There’s always a loophole. It seems, according to the Congressional Research Service, that $4.4 billion can be used immediately to implement the amnesty provisions within the bill. Don’t believe me? Read it for yourself.

U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) released Wednesday a report from the Congressional Research Service (CRS) which says the new Senate immigration bill contains a major loophole in border security. Supporters of the bill say it provides $4.4 billion in immediate mandatory spending for border enforcement, but according to the CRS analysis, the funds could also be used immediately to implement the amnesty provisions bill.
Could Senator Domenici (R-NM) be switching from Yea to Nay?
Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) could be voting NO on cloture tomorrow as well.
Could Jim Webb (D-VA) be switching too? Probably not.
The White House released yet another “Fact Sheet“. This one talks about the “bipartisan” border security and immigration reform bill. I’m not even going to waste my time. Just like the Senate, the only thing coming out of the White House is horseshit these days.
The Mexican ambassador says immigration reform here in the United States will not stop illegal immigration. Only reform in Mexico will stem the tide.
GM Roper has the image of the day. Ain’t that the truth.
Michelle Malkin was live blogging all the live long day. Keeping us all informed. I spent my spare time with an ear on C-SPAN, an eye on Malkin’s site, and my hands on the computer working on videos.
I learned from Representative Gingrey that Mexican criminals are just waiting for the amnesty bill to pass.
Bloomberg reports that passage of the Amnesty Bill is in doubt.
As of 11:45pm, The Corner on National Review Online was reporting that we had 38 of the 41 votes needed.
The Senate will convene at 9:30 this morning, for the final hour of debate before the cloture vote. You still have time to call your senators. Right now. Don’t wait a moment longer. Visit NumbersUSA and send a fax, immediately.
The vote at 10:30am is THE vote. If cloture passes, the bill will pass in the final vote. A vote for cloture this morning is definitely a vote for amnesty.Take a moment right now and contact your senators or send them a fax. Urge them to oppose this measure and support enforcing our current immigration laws. When you’re done calling them, call the National Republican Senatorial Committee at (202) 675-6000 and let them know you won’t support the reelection of any senator who votes for this bill. Then call the Republican National Committee at (202) 863-8500 (option 1) and tell them the same thing. You should also contact the White House and tell the President that you are not stupid, you are not misinformed, and you do, in fact, know what’s right for America.
