Amnesty Bill II: Daily Roundup For 06/13/2007
On his flight home from his whirlwind tour of Europe, including Albania, President Bush took a moment to phone the senators who he thinks are working hardest for America in the immigration reform talks. Who did he call? John Kyl (R-AZ), Edward Kennedy (D-MA), and Ken Salazar (D-CO). It seems to me he should have been calling Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and Jim DeMint (R-SC).
It appears pro-amnesty forces are going to try and bribe us with $4.4 billion in border security provisions. Isn’t it funny that these politicians have no problem being seen throwing more money at this bill rather than throwing their support behind more enforcement of existing laws already on the books?
The administration, along with their pro-amnesty allies, are going to try anything and everything to pass this legislation, no matter what the American people want.
Bob Corker had the immigration quote of the day.
“We . . . have lost credibility in Washington on the issue, and I think before the American people will really ever get behind an immigration policy, they’re going to have to feel that Washington is truly going to follow through on what it says”.
John McCain has the non-response of the day, that also admits the Senate has failed to fulfill their promises:
“Nothing compared to what we promised we would do.”
Michelle Malkin has a message for the RNC.
Digger noticed Bush looks beaten, and thinks the bill is finally dead. Wouldn’t that be nice?
John Hawkins conducted the “Rightosphere Temperature Check For June“. It seems an overwhelming number of those polled are pleased the Amnesty Bill failed. Imagine that.
Please, take a moment out of your day to contact your senators. Urge them to oppose this measure and support enforcing our current immigration laws. You should also contact the White House and tell the President that, as an American, you do, in fact, know what’s right for America.
