An Oxymoron If I Ever Saw One

Today, Republicans in the Senate helped block a no-confidence vote on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
The text of the resolution states:
JOINT RESOLUTION
Expressing the sense of the Senate that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales no longer holds the confidence of the Senate and of the American people.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SENSE OF THE SENATE.
It is the sense of the Senate that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales no longer holds the confidence of the Senate and of the American people.
For those of you who think I just called the Senate a bunch of morons, an oxymoron is "a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect."
Sense Of The Senate. Ha! Not recently anyway.
