Kevin Ecker reminds us to keep pressure on the Senate.

Over at Townhall, John Hawkins lists 5 big problems with the Senate's Amnesty Bill.

Why not take a moment and sign the No Amnesty Petition.

Hugh Hewitt reports on the coming collapse of the compromise.

The Senate voted not "to amend the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 to facilitate information sharing between federal and local law enforcement officials related to an individual's immigration status". It was struck down in a vote of 49 – 48. Who voted against it?

Arkansas: Lincoln (D)
California: Boxer (D), Feinstein (D)
Colorado: Salazar (D)
Connecticut: Dodd (D), Lieberman (I)
Delaware: Biden (D), Carper (D)
Florida: Martinez (R), Nelson (D)
Hawaii: Akaka (D), Inouye (D)
Illinois: Durbin (D), Obama (D)
Indiana: Lugar (R)
Iowa: Harkin (D)
Maine: Snowe (R)
Maryland: Cardin (D), Mikulski (D)
Massachusetts: Kennedy (D), Kerry (D)
Michigan: Levin (D), Stabenow (D)
Minnesota: Klobuchar (D)
Nebraska: Hagel (R)
Nevada: Reid (D)
New Jersey: Lautenberg (D), Menendez (D)
New Mexico: Bingaman (D), Domenici (R)
New York: Clinton (D), Schumer (D)
North Dakota: Conrad (D)
Ohio: Brown (D), Voinovich (R)
Oregon: Wyden (D)
Pennsylvania: Casey (D), Specter (R)
Rhode Island: Reed (D), Whitehouse (D)
South Carolina: Graham (R)
Vermont: Leahy (D), Sanders (I)
Virginia: Webb (D)
Washington: Cantwell (D), Murray (D)
West Virginia: Rockefeller (D)
Wisconsin: Feingold (D), Kohl (D)

Even though it failed, I was pleased to see that my two senators supported this amendment. Maybe there is hope for them yet. Another thing I noticed was the significant number of Democrats who don't think it's important for local law enforcement to know if they are dealing with an illegal immigrant. What a shame…

More disturbing however, was the number of senators who voted against the amendment offered by Senator David Vitter from Louisiana, which would have struck amnesty from the bill entirely. The amendment failed by a vote of 66-29.

That's right people, the following senators support amnesty for illegal immigrants, no matter what they may tell you when they are up for re-election.

Alaska: Murkowski (R), Stevens (R)
Arizona: Kyl (R), McCain (R)
Arkansas: Lincoln (D)
California: Boxer (D), Feinstein (D)
Colorado: Salazar (D)
Connecticut: Dodd (D), Lieberman (I)
Delaware: Biden (D), Carper (D)
Florida: Martinez (R), Nelson (D)
Georgia: Chambliss (R), Isakson (R)
Hawaii: Akaka (D). Inouye (D)
Idaho: Craig (R)
Illinois: Durbin (D), Obama (D)
Indiana: Bayh (D), Lugar (R)
Iowa: Harkin (D)
Maine: Collins (R), Snowe (R)
Maryland: Cardin (D), Mikulski (D)
Massachusetts: Kennedy (D), Kerry (D)
Michigan: Levin (D), Stabenow (D)
Minnesota: Coleman (R), Klobuchar (D)
Mississippi: Lott (R)
Nebraska: Hagel (R)
Nevada: Ensign (R), Reid (D)
New Hampshire: Gregg (R)
New Jersey: Lautenberg (D), Menendez (D)
New Mexico: Bingaman (D), Domenici (R)
New York: Clinton (D)
North Carolina: Burr (R)
North Dakota: Conrad (D)
Ohio: Brown (D), Voinovich (R)
Oregon: Smith (R), Wyden (D)
Pennsylvania: Casey (D), Specter (R)
Rhode Island: Reed (D), Whitehouse (D)
South Carolina: Graham (R)
Texas: Cornyn (R), Hutchison (R)
Utah: Bennett (R)
Vermont: Leahy (D), Sanders (I)
Virginia: Warner (R), Webb (D)
Washington: Cantwell (D), Murray (D)
Wisconsin: Feingold (D), Kohl (D)

I guess it's safe to say that neither Chambliss or Isakson have learned a damn thing this week.

Over at Polipundit, The Ace quotes Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez who makes the stupid comment of the day.

The U.S. needs more foreign workers as baby boomers retire, the Commerce secretary said. His department's figures show the population aged 25-54 growing at 0.2% a year while the workforce is growing at 1.2% a year.

"The reality is, we don't have enough people," said Gutierrez, adding that many of the United States' economic competitors, such as France, Germany, Japan and China, will be facing a similar demographic shift. "The big challenge of the 21st century is: who gets the people? Who gets the immigrants?" he said. "We don't appreciate today that these people are coming in for free."

And believe it or not, Newt Gingrich had the best quote of the day.

"The announcement last week that the White House and a group of senators have reached an agreement on "comprehensive immigration reform" should have the same effect that the word "iceberg" had on the passengers and crew of the Titanic.

This proposed agreement is a disaster of the first order, and it will severely cripple America for the foreseeable future."

You should read his entire piece over at Human Events, to learn the 75 reasons to oppose the Amnesty Bill.

Michelle Malkin has a ton of information, with new hotline phone numbers, answers about who exactly is funding them, and much more.

Push 1 when you hear the Spanish jabber, then when you hear the Spanish jabber again; push 1 again to go directly to your senator’s office.

You can also push 2 the second time you hear the Spanish jabber and it will go to the Senators aids.

Para escuchar las instrucciones en español, por favor use el siguiente número:

Call between 9:00am and 5:00pm Eastern time to have a better chance of connecting with the Senate offices.

When you call, you will hear a recording

The system will scan your phone number (or ask you to enter it) to verify your Senators. The system will ask which Senator you would like to be connected to. Before connecting, you will hear a brief message about immigration reform to deliver. After the message, you will be connected to your Senator. After you are done, be sure to call again and connect to your other Senator's office.

    IS THIS NOT UNBELIEVABLE?
