Somethings Are More Black Than White

Aren't people taking things a bit too far?
There was racially-charged rhetoric at the state Capitol on Wednesday after a House committee killed a resolution to hang a portrait of Coretta Scott King inside the Capitol.
No one seconded a motion to approve the portrait.
After the committee's silence, angry words from resolution sponsor Roberta Abdul-Salaam. She compared the committee's non-vote to the racially-charged comments by radio host Don Imus about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.
And it's just like calling Mrs. King a nappy-headed (n-word). You know, and that's the n-word, yes," Abdul-Salaam said.
Is it really appropriate to be repeating the comments made by Don Imus, let alone when referring to Coretta Scott King? If you do feel it's appropriate, don't you think you should, at the very least, use the actual comment when quoting him instead of replacing words you find more inciteful?
Don Imus used the word "ho", not "n-word". You did, Mrs. Abdul-Salaam. Don Imus will probably lose his job before the dust settles. What will happen to you for making reference to his comments when speaking of Mrs. King? You should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe, if you took a moment and put away your race-baiting handbook, you would find there is another reason for the committees action.
The committee chair said the decision was not about race, but about whether the Capitol is the right place for Mrs. King's portrait.
"The venue is designed for people that are involved in the government of the state of Georgia, primarily," said Rep. Calvin Hill.
Wow, imagine that. A logical explanation. Who ever thought such things were possible in this day and age of race-baiting?
