A horrible ending to a sad story…
A six-year-old boy who vanished a week ago while playing near his trailer-park home in coastal Georgia was found dead today.
Police say the body of Christopher Michael Barrios was found about three miles from home near the Glynn County airport. Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said the body had not been buried but was concealed by a material he did not identify.
Doering said it was obvious that the child had been slain but would not go into details. He said he believed all four suspects questioned in the case would be charged with murder.
Doering said the body was found by a state Department of Natural Resources ranger. He said the body was found after police expanded their search beyond a patch of woods that had been searched for two days. That was the area where two of the suspects told police they had buried the body.
While those responsible for his death will be held accountable, what is going to be done about the procedure that allowed authorities to wait four days before making the Levi's Call?
Were they searching for those four days, or did they wait until the revelation hit them that 6 year old children don't disappear on their own?
Either way, the Glynn County Police Department needs to make changes to their procedure for cases involving missing children.

Why is it that sexual offenders are allowed to live in an area where there are children living or visiting often? This should not be allowed.Granted if they have been convicted and served the time required they have done their time.BUT it has also been shown that the type of sexual offender who killed Christopher Barrios repeat these acts.I read on a credited site a list of "red flags" for parents too be aware of,the last line was that sexual offenders on average molest 117 victims during their lifetime.
What is wrong with our government that they target tax evaders faster than these repulsive people? These offenders should have NO rights of privacy.Granted that would lead to them not having any where to leave peacefully.Who cares. When you sexually assault anyone especially a young child who struggles and cries out yet the predator is only aroused further by their attempts.
Something must be done to protect the children.
