A Florida company said today it has recalled jars of olives because they may be contaminated with a bacteria that can cause food poisoning.

Flora Foods, of Pompano Beach, has recalled its 25-ounce jars of "Cerignola Olives" because they could be contaminated with clostridium botulinum, which can cause a potentially fatal form of food poisoning.

The recalled olives were distributed in retail stores in Florida, Georgia and upstate New York. The product comes in a clear glass jar with LOT #G080 stamped on the label, according to a company statement.
